Welcome to Tuscany Review: the English guide to Tuscany.
The website is one of the Review series created by myself, Dion Protani. My aim is to share with the world the depth of sights that Italy possesses by showcasing some of the lesser-known delights whilst not ignoring the major sights. Tuscany is one of the most popular Italian regions in terms of tourism as it has so much to offer: its capital Florence is the jewel of the Renaissance and one of a number of incredible cities. There's much beyond the cities as well with a beautiful coastline and the iconic rolling hills of the interior studded with cypress trees. |
With the Explore Tuscany section you can really start to discover the region and go through the early phases of planning a trip. This is the most exciting part of any journey, when you see something that inspires you and you make that little dream come true.
The section is split into categories where the most highly recommended places are towards the top of the page. You can go through and work out which of the major cities you'd like to explore, maybe find out about Tuscany's best beaches or discover the dazzling islands of the Tuscan Archipelago. We've got bundles of photos and information on every page. |
The Tuscany Travel pages are hugely important for the planning phase of your trip. As most visitors to this site will be flying into Tuscany to start their journey, we've got information about the two airports in the region including who flies to which one and which one is handiest for which destination.
Of the two airports in Tuscany, Pisa is the busier with roughly double the footfall of Florence Airport. From both airports we have drivers available to take you to your next destination with prices for private transfers detailed on numerous pages. We've also included the timetables for every ferry route in Tuscany with particular emphasis on the Tuscan Archipelago islands. |
One of the most exciting aspects too modern-day tourism is that it's now easier than ever to go the extra mile and really experience a place. There's so much to see in Tuscany but how about getting up close and personal with the region?
With our Tuscany Tours you can do just that; we've got a wide range of experience from walking tours to hot air balloon rides and much more besides. We can take you out on boats, escort you around the region's vineyards or help you make the most of a visit to a cultural centre such as the Uffizi Gallery in Florence. Every tour comes with real user reviews, clear pricing and detailed descriptions in English so you can choose with confidence. |
One of the pillars of your trip is always the accommodation; get that right and you're in for a wonderful stay but sometimes it takes a little research to make the right decision.
We work with Booking.com and you'll find thousands of accommodation options in our Tuscany Hotels section. With the hotel booking engine you can really define your search by using the sophisticated tools which allow you to pinpoint exactly what you're looking for. Whether you need an on-site car park, an extra bed in the room or any other requirement, the booking engine is easy to use and produces instant results. |
Throughout the site we've provided pages about things to see and do in Tuscany, how to get here and what to do while you're here.
We can also look beyond that and get a better feel for the region, its boundaries, its history, culture and traditions. With the Tuscany section we take a geographical look at the regio, talking about its ten provinces and its sub-regions. Among those sub regions are household names such as Chianti but there are some really fascinating areas once you scratch a bit further beneath the surface. The Val d'Orcia region for example for may people epitomises what Tuscany is all about with its scenery. |
