The region of Tuscany's Borghi Più Belli d'Italia numbers 22 villages and small towns, each with its own unique character.
An Italian borgo is usually a hill town, a small village or an historic area of a larger town where the houses are huddled together and the local traditions remain firmly intact. Many of the names below will be unfamiliar at first but they provide some wonderful days out where you can step back in time and learn about Tuscany's diverse cultures. Among the highlights on the list are the hill towns of Pitigliano and the Giglio Castello. |
