The hill town of Assisi in the Umbria region of central Italy, has a population of 27,671. It is located in the province of Perugia and most famous for being the birthplace of St. Francis of Assisi.

The town is a popular pilgrimage site with sights such as the Basilica of Saint Francis and the Basilica of Santa Chiara showcasing stunning medieval architecture and religious artefacts.
