The Orvieto Tours are designed to enrich any visit to one of the most famous hill towns in Italy which sits just across the border from Tuscany in the neighbouring region of Umbria.
With an incredible facade that can be seen from miles around, the cathedral in Orvieto is one of the most memorable in the country and is just one reason to visit the town. Orvieto sits in a defensive position atop a hill where in the 16th century the Pope created an ingenious well system which allowed the townsfolk to draw water without fear of attack from warring neighbours. Nowadays, the Pozzo di San Patrizio is one of the town's main visitor attractions. Tours and activities in Orvieto include guided walks and local vineyard visits. |
