Ferry Ports of Tuscany
Latest update: 18 February 2024
The ferry ports of Tuscany perform an integral role in the transport infrastructure of the region. The largest port in Tuscany is Livorno from where it's possible to sail to a wide variety of destinations including the ports of Olbia and Golfo Aranci in Sardinia as well as to Palermo, the capital of Sicily.
One of the most popular ferry routes in Tuscany is from the port of Piombino across to Portoferraio on the island of Elba, the main island of the Tuscan Archipelago. From Porto Santo Stefano ferries cross to two more islands of the same archipelago: tiny Giannutri and Giglio Porto on the slightly larger island of Giglio. |
