My name is Dion Protani; I'm the founder of Tuscany Review and the other websites that make up the Italy Review Network.
Since moving to Italy in 2013 I've spent countless days exploring this great country and I've been lucky enough to explore some regions in greater depth than others. On of those regions is Tuscany which captures the imagination of everyone who visits it. It's characterised by its distinctive rolling hills and cypress trees but there is so much more to the region. The sound of church bells ringing out across a Tuscan piazza while you sip a morning coffee is one of the most evocative experiences I can think of. There are so many beautiful cities and smaller towns where that same feeling of being surrounded by historical landmarks and a slower, more traditional way of life than I was brought up with in the UK. Away from those beautiful towns Tuscany also offers stunning coastal areas, islands and even mountains. |
