Statue of David

The Statue of David is one of the finest works of art by Italian Renaissance artist Michelangelo Buonarotti. Measuring just over 5 metres in height, the project took three years and was finished in 1504. It's on display at the Galleria dell'Accademia in Florence.
The theme of David defeating Goliath is an important part of the culture in Florence where there are several other Davids displayed. |
